This workshop will focus on learning about how the brain functions and the impact of trauma and attachment with the brain. We will look at the characteristics of what trauma is, what area of the brain define trauma, and how play can help heal past trauma. We will also discuss how play therapy, EMDR, Sand Play, TFCT, and containers can be utilized with children in a safe setting which is therapeutic in and of itself and allows for trauma processing on a deep level and in the child’s special ways.
Clinicians will learn the benefits of play therapy, EMDR, Sand Play, and TFCBT, and recognize the signs that the treatment modalities are helping the child experience a renewed sense of control and mastery, critical in trauma work.
