Board Nominaton

The board is comprised of five officer positions:

  • President
  • President Elect (Vice President)
  • Past President (President Adviser)
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer

Committees make up the remaining part of the board. Committee members participate in board meetings, work to plan events and advocate for play therapy in the community. Committees are based on need and may change from year to year.  Some examples of committees that might compliment and support officers and on the board include:

  • Graduate Student Representative
  • Outreach Coordinator
  • Newsletter Chair
  • Conference Chair
  • Media Chair
  • Networking Chair

Become a Board Member:

We are always looking for enthusiastic play therapists interested in promoting and advocating for the play therapy! If you are interested in becoming a member of the board, please email playtherapy.washington@gmail.com Please include your bio, training, and reason you are passionate about play therapy.

Benefits of being a board member include access to free trainings, building connections within the play therapy community, professional development and leadership, and promoting play therapy within the larger community.

Requirements to hold a board position (officer or committee):

  • Be an APT member
  • Be able to promote Play Therapy in the community
  • Attend and provide support for all sponsored trainings
  • Come to 2/3 of scheduled meetings (meet virtually on Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm)
  • Participate in a committee or become an officer
